Pablo Alvarez-Mesa travels along Simón Bolívar’s route through Colombia, retracing the path of the war of independence from May to August 1819. At each significant battleground, he engages a medium to summon Bolívar’s spirit. This interaction reveals Bolívar’s lasting influence in Colombian society, reflected in social rituals and state structures. The film examines how Bolívar's legacy intertwines with contemporary issues, including ongoing cycles of violence in the nation.
