Synopsis
Elizabeth Klarer, a South African meteorologist, claimed to have been abducted by an extraterrestrial named Akon in the 1950s. During her four-month stay on Meton, a planet in the Proxima Centauri system, she alleged that she fell in love with Akon and had a son. Upon returning to Earth, Klarer shared detailed accounts of alien technology, including a light propulsion system. Directed by Uga Carlini, Beyond the Light Barrier features interviews, archival footage, and animations, and premiered at the Encounters South African International Documentary Film Festival in June 2023.
