Synopsis
Richard Streitmatter-Tran reflects on his life as an orphan during the Vietnam War. After being adopted by a family in Massachusetts, he served in the United States military during the Gulf War. With support from the G.I. Bill, he attended art school. The film follows his return to Vietnam, where he teaches art at a university. It features five songs that shape his understanding of identity. Filmed at the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art in Singapore, "Belong" is part of the "How We Live Now" series.
