Synopsis
Andrew Carroll travels the world searching for war letters that tell personal stories from soldiers and their families. Over 25 years, he has preserved more than 200,000 correspondences dating from the American Revolution to present-day Ukraine. Actors such as Laura Dern and Gary Cole read these letters, some written just before the authors died. Annette Bening narrates the film, which is based on Carroll’s best-selling book Letters of a Nation.
