Synopsis

Elise, a former teen runaway and prostitute, shares her life story through video recordings starting in 1996. As she returns to stripping at age 30, her circumstances shift dramatically. Over the next seven years, the closure of sex businesses on 42nd Street by Mayor Giuliani leaves her without work. Struggling with mental health issues, Elise stops paying rent and faces eviction, ultimately living in Central Park. "Begging Naked" documents these significant events over nearly a decade.
