Before Sandstorm

Synopsis

In the Tengger Desert of northwest China, two men discuss health tips while pressing straw into the sand. They aim to combat desertification and sandstorms in an area roughly the size of the Netherlands. As they work, their conversation shifts to personal struggles. One man shares his experience of raising a child alone after his wife left. He reflects on his life with a sense of resignation, stating, “Our fate is like an unbreakable wall.”
