Synopsis

Soldiers of the Bad Voodoo Platoon prepared for deployment to Iraq in June 2007. The American military surge was at its peak. Director Deborah Scranton supplied cameras to these National Guard infantrymen for them to document their experiences on the ground. The film focuses on their daily missions, which included dodging improvised explosive devices, working with Iraqi security forces, and managing the stress and exhaustion of combat. It presents a firsthand account of life in a war zone.
