Synopsis

Each spring, farmers in Newfoundland transport their sheep by open boat to a predator-free island. There, the flock grazes on lush grass and drinks from freshwater springs without human intervention. This seasonal practice allows the land to thrive, as the sheep's grazing and manure maintain a rich supply of organic pasture. Before winter arrives, the farmers gather the sheep and their newborn lambs, continuing a sustainable tradition that has persisted for generations.
