Synopsis
Marianna Trevino Wright stands at the National Butterfly Center in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. She leads efforts against the proposed US-Mexico border wall, facing threats from supporters of the wall. Zulema Hernandez, a great grandmother and migrant worker, advocates for the rights of migrants and wildlife. The film also addresses the decline of the butterfly population, as over 95 percent of their habitat has been lost. Ay Mariposa runs for 57 minutes and documents the commitment of these individuals to their community and environment.
