Atreyee

Synopsis

Atreyee, a young woman from Calcutta, relocates to Bombay in search of a new life. She secures paying guest accommodation in the suburbs and begins to establish her daily routines, captured through a series of still photographs. As she navigates her new environment, the film reflects on her experiences of loneliness and disconnection. Eventually, Atreyee returns to Calcutta, where marriage emerges as a potential solution to her modern life challenges. The documentary runs for 21 minutes and was released in 2004.
