Synopsis

Silvester, an artist and civil servant at the East Flores Regency Tourism Office, participates in a cultural festival in Lewolema, Indonesia. For nearly fifty years, the Lewolema indigenous people have lacked a recognized space for cultural expression. Silvester believes festivals can recreate egalitarian spaces for culture. The film shows how artistic work can help maintain heritage and traditions while engaging with tourism in a different way. It runs for 29 minutes and was released in 2020.
