Synopsis
At the Freedom Theater in the Jenin Refugee Camp, young Palestinian actresses confront military occupation and gender oppression through their performances. Inspired by literary works such as 'Alice in Wonderland,' 'Waiting for Godot,' and 'Antigone,' they channel their grief and experiences into artistic expression. Their director, Juliano Mer-Khamis, a peace activist, was murdered on April 4, 2011. In his absence, the actresses continue to create a bold artistic rebellion against the violence surrounding them.
