Khosrow Shakibaei sought to meet Behrouz Vossoughi, a celebrated actor exiled after the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Vossoughi's name and image are banned in Iran, making any attempt to connect with him risky for Shakibaei's career. In 2000, Abbas Kiarostami received the Akira Kurosawa Award and dedicated it to Vossoughi. Following Shakibaei's unexpected death in July 2008, director Hossein Khandan obtained permission from Shakibaei's family to release "Another Salute," which reflects on these intertwined lives.
