Synopsis
Boyd Coddington's car shop in La Habra, California, is the setting for American Hot Rod, a reality series that aired from 2004 to 2008. The program follows the daily operations of the shop as the crew builds custom vehicles, including the 'Alumatub' and a pink Cadillac for an Elvis tribute. Personal conflicts and team dynamics emerge among the staff, many of whom later joined Chip Foose's Overhaulin'. Coddington passed away in February 2008, and the shop closed in June of that year.
