Synopsis
Kotzebue, Alaska, is home to the Goodwin family, an Inupiat household living above the Arctic Circle. Over four years, the film follows three generations of this family. It captures their daily lives, traditions, and challenges in a rapidly changing environment. Directed by Jonathan VanBallenberghe, "Almost an Island" presents a close look at indigenous life in the Arctic region. The documentary runs for 57 minutes and was released in 2021.
