Mike Fay, a Wildlife Conservation Society conservationist, embarked on a mission across Africa in 2004. He flew in a Cessna to key ecoregions, mapping the effects of human activity on natural habitats. This followed his 2000 trek of 2,000 miles in Congo and Gabon, which led to Gabon’s first system of national parks.
