Synopsis

Virulent homophobia permeates Uganda, particularly following the 2014 signing of the "Anti-Homosexuality Bill" by the Ugandan President, which initially included the death penalty for homosexuality. Although international backlash led to the law's annulment, a new version is being proposed. Isobel Yeung meets anti-gay leaders who are instilling intolerance in Uganda's youth, revealing alarming connections between their rhetoric and the influence of American fundamentalist groups. The documentary highlights the ongoing struggle for LGBTQ+ rights in a hostile environment.
