Synopsis

In the Kalahari Desert of Namibia, two ethnographers captured images that now reside in the Marshall Archive at Harvard University's Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. A New England Document features a Black international student at Harvard and their daughter, Elizabeth Marshall Thomas, a New York Times bestselling writer. Together, they voice fragmented narratives that reflect on the archival material, giving attention to stories that have long been silenced. The film runs for 16 minutes and was released in 2020.
