Synopsis
Dulce Maria and her brother Francisco live in rural Nicaragua without any form of language. They are Deaf adults who have never encountered spoken, written, or signed communication. Their lives change when Tomasa, a Deaf sign-language teacher, arrives with the goal of teaching them their first words. Over the course of 71 minutes, the film documents their interactions and the challenges they face as they begin to learn a new way to communicate.
