Synopsis
Chon recounts his experiences in La Mora, a settlement in the mountains of Nayarit. His cousin Faustino, the son of the local shaman, declared himself a god and took on the role of spiritual leader in the 1980s. Faustino's authority was accepted by the community, but he soon formed an armed group that terrorized neighboring villages. After witnessing Faustino kill members of their own community, Chon fled La Mora and reported the violence to the police.
