Synopsis

Six artists explore the allure of outer space through diverse mediums and perspectives. Rachel Rose examines mortality via the astronaut's out-of-body experience, while Tom Sachs creates a fictional space program featuring pretend astronauts. Trevor Paglen captures the hidden objects orbiting Earth, and Hiroshi Sugimoto presents an inverted photograph of the Moon. Alicja Kwade raises philosophical questions through her sculptures, and Laurie Anderson, NASA's first artist-in-residence, reflects on her lifelong connection to the sky through virtual reality.
