Walvis Tale is a Namibian documentary directed by Tim Huebschle, focusing on the relationship between the residents of Walvis Bay and the local fishery. The film features six interviewees selected by co-writer Taati Niilenge, who utilized her expertise as a community journalist to provide insight into the community's connection to fishing.
Shot on location in Walvis Bay in September 2023, the documentary captures the town's unique culture and the significance of fishing in the lives of its inhabitants. It premiered on 1 March 2024 during the 30th anniversary celebrations of Walvis Bay’s reintegration into Namibia.
