Deep Dive: Unity (2015)
Film Lens

Unity is a 2015 documentary directed by Shaun Monson, serving as a sequel to the 2005 film Earthlings. The film is narrated by one hundred individuals from various fields including actors, athletes, and musicians, providing a diverse perspective on humanity's transformation. It is structured into five chapters: 'Cosmic', 'Mind', 'Body', 'Heart', and 'Soul', each focusing on different aspects of human existence and our connection to the world around us.
The film was produced after a failed Kickstarter campaign in 2013, which aimed to raise $800,000 for post-production. Instead, funding was secured through Executive Producers Dieter Paulmann, Alec Pedersen, and Babak Cyrus Razi. Unity features Ryan O'Neal in his final film role before his retirement in 2017 and subsequent death in 2023. The film was released worldwide on August 12, 2015, and also exists as an unabridged audiobook narrated by Monson himself.
