After finishing high school in the US, he returned to Mexico hoping to attend college, only to find that his American documents were not accepted. This led to feelings of regret and disappointment as he faced challenges in his hometown, which he found to be very different from his life in the US.
Rafino reflects on his experiences of poverty in his village and the stark contrast to his life in Georgia. He shares his struggles with finding work and the difficulties of being an indigenous person in Mexico, where he faced assumptions about his language skills. The film captures his longing for a better future and the barriers he encounters due to his immigration status.
