Time is a documentary directed by Garrett Bradley that follows Sibil Fox Richardson, also known as Fox Rich, as she fights for the release of her husband, Rob, who was sentenced to 60 years in prison for armed bank robbery. The film combines original footage with home videos recorded by Rich over 18 years, providing a personal glimpse into her life as an entrepreneur, author, and mother of six. Rich served three and a half years for her role in the robbery, while Rob was granted clemency in 2018 after serving 21 years. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2020, where Bradley won the US Documentary Directing Award, making her the first African-American woman to achieve this honor. Time was released theatrically on October 9, 2020, and digitally on Amazon Prime Video on October 16, 2020. It received critical acclaim, being nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards and sweeping several major critics awards.
