Thinking XXX is a documentary film from 2004 that follows photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders as he creates his book XXX: 30 Porn Star Portraits. The film features portraits of thirty porn stars, both clothed and naked, captured using an antique view camera. This choice of equipment allows for large negatives suitable for oversized exhibition prints, which are displayed in gallery exhibitions. In addition to the photography, the film includes conversations and interviews with the performers, as well as insights from authors, artists, and filmmakers outside the pornography industry. Produced for HBO, the film was never released in theaters and is not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America.
