In spring 2019, Jukka Kekkonen, a professor at the University of Helsinki, runs as a first-time candidate in Finland's parliamentary elections. His goal is to reform the outdated University Act, which affects the educational landscape in Finland. Alongside Jukka, education and science professionals Gaela Keryell, Lena Näre, and Taina Saarikivi face various obstacles, including legal disputes and layoffs, while navigating a government that has consistently adopted anti-education and anti-science policies. The film presents the personal and professional struggles of these educators within the Finnish educational system. Despite dwindling resources and shifting political priorities every four years, their commitment to teaching and research remains steadfast. The documentary captures the tension between their dedication and the challenges posed by the current political climate.
