The Human Experience is a documentary that follows brothers Clifford and Jeffrey Azize as they seek to understand what it means to be human. The film is structured in three parts, with the first segment set in New York City, where the brothers live with homeless individuals during one of the coldest winters on record. They confront their own family issues, having not seen their father for a decade, while forming connections with their homeless companions.
In the second part, the Azize brothers travel to Peru with a group of surfers from Surf For The Cause. They visit a hospital for abandoned children in the Andes, where they witness joy among the children despite their medical challenges. The final segment takes them to Ghana, where they meet families affected by AIDS and visit a leper colony. The film concludes with the brothers returning to New York, changed by their experiences, and reuniting with their father after ten years.
