The Chaperone 3D is a Canadian documentary directed by Fraser Munden, released in 2013. The film reenacts the true story of Ralph Whims and Stefan Czernatowicz, who served as a chaperone and DJ at a school dance. The event took a turn when a biker gang invaded, leading Whims and Czernatowicz to confront the gang directly. The film uses a blend of animation and puppetry to bring this dramatic encounter to life.
Premiering at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, The Chaperone was recognized as the runner-up for best short film. It was also included in TIFF's annual year-end Canada's Top Ten list for 2013 and received a nomination for Best Short Documentary Film at the 3rd Canadian Screen Awards.
