South Pacific
South Pacific is a nature documentary series that surveys the natural history of the South Pacific islands, including coral atolls and New Zealand. The series consists of six episodes, each lasting fifty minutes, and was filmed over 18 months in remote locations such as Anuta, Papua New Guinea, and Tanna Island in Vanuatu. The series is narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch and was produced by the BBC Natural History Unit in collaboration with the Discovery Channel. Filming was conducted entirely in high-definition, capturing the unique wildlife and landscapes of the region. Each episode concludes with a ten-minute featurette that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the filming process. The series was released in the USA under the title Wild Pacific, narrated by Mike Rowe, and was made available on DVD and Blu-ray on 15 June 2009.
