Project 22 focuses on the alarming statistic that twenty-two Veterans in the United States commit suicide each day. The film follows two combat-wounded Veterans, Daniel and Doc, as they ride motorcycles from San Francisco to New York. Throughout their 6,500-mile trip, they engage with other Veterans to discuss the post-war issues that contribute to this crisis and the various forms of alternative therapy that are helping them heal. The documentary features interviews with mental health clinicians, researchers, and educators who specialize in Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress. Daniel and Doc ask difficult questions and share their own experiences, aiming to raise awareness and find solutions to the mental health struggles faced by Veterans. Their mission is to reach the next twenty-two, emphasizing the importance of community and support in overcoming these challenges.
