Meerkat Manor is a British television programme that follows the Whiskers, a family of meerkats in the Kalahari Desert. Produced by Oxford Scientific Films for Animal Planet International, the series combines traditional animal documentary footage with dramatic narration. It is part of the Kalahari Meerkat Project, which studies the ecological and evolutionary aspects of meerkat cooperation.
The series premiered in September 2005 and ran for four seasons until August 2008. Bill Nighy originally narrated the show, with different narrators for Australian and American broadcasts. The fourth series, titled The Next Generation, featured Stockard Channing as the American narrator.
