Tragically, the film also addresses the untimely death of Lewis, who was killed by a drunk driver in Newport Beach, California, on March 11, 2009. In recognition of his contributions to MMA, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) posthumously inducted him into the UFC Hall of Fame, which makes clear his lasting influence in the world of mixed martial arts.
