Mad Dogs follows the story of Danilo, Marcio, and Yuri, who left Brazil in the mid-90s to pursue their passion for surfing in Hawaii. With little money and no English, they aimed to ride the world's most famous waves. The film captures the era when Laird Hamilton and his crew pioneered tow surfing, using jet skis to tackle giant waves, which transformed the surfing landscape. In 2006, the three friends embarked on a five-year quest to surf Jaws, a notorious big wave spot, without safety equipment or inflatable vests. Their determination and commitment to surfing in its purest form are central themes of the documentary, illustrating their relentless pursuit of the ultimate surfing experience.
