Four Daughters is a 2023 Arabic-language documentary directed by Kaouther Ben Hania. It tells the story of a Tunisian mother, Olfa Hamrouni, and her four daughters, two of whom left to join Daesh fighters in Libya. The film uses professional actors to portray the missing daughters, allowing the family to recount their experiences alongside the actors. This unique approach aims to bring viewers closer to the emotional and social complexities faced by Olfa and her remaining daughters. The film is an international co-production involving France, Tunisia, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. It premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2023, and was released in France on July 5, 2023. It was selected as Tunisia's entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards and received a nomination for Best Documentary Feature.
