It reflects on the personal conflicts faced by the subject as he immerses himself in this rigorous environment, aiming to understand deeper issues of conflict within himself and humanity. The film took over five years to produce, with two years dedicated to traveling across Thailand's remote locations. It premiered at the DocNz International Film Festival in September 2007 and has received multiple awards, including Best Foreign Documentary at the Long Island Film Festival in 2009. The production was funded by the Irish Film Board, and it was broadcast in 2010 on various networks including Halogen TV in the USA.
