Elemental is a documentary that follows three individuals connected by their commitment to nature and environmental activism. Rajendra Singh, an Indian government official, undertakes a 40-day pilgrimage along the polluted Ganges River, working to shut down factories and halt dam construction while facing community opposition. His mission is to inspire respect for the river, known as 'Mother Ganga.' In Canada, Eriel Deranger, a native Denè and young mother, campaigns against the Tar Sands and the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline, which threaten Indigenous communities and the environment. Meanwhile, in Australia, inventor Jay Harman seeks investors for a device inspired by nature's systems to combat global warming. The film presents these characters as complex figures dedicated to environmental protection across different continents.
