Dead Hands Dig Deep is a documentary that follows Edwin Borsheim, the vocalist of the deathrock band Kettle Cadaver, as he reflects on his troubled past. At thirty-eight, Borsheim lives in seclusion on his property in Temecula, California, surrounded by the remnants of his former life and art. The film captures his struggles with drug abuse and self-destructive behavior while also featuring insights from those close to him, who analyze his mental state. The documentary was produced by Lonesome Pictures and had a challenging production process, including difficulties in contacting Borsheim due to his isolation. The crew faced threats from Borsheim during filming, and he often went off the grid, complicating communication. Despite these challenges, Borsheim found the filmmaking experience therapeutic and maintained contact with the crew after its completion. Tragically, he died by suicide in June 2017, a year after the film's release.
