Circus Baobab presents the establishment of Guinea's first circus by French filmmaker Laurent Chevallier. He selects 36 young individuals from Conakry and, over two years, a team of French circus artists trains them in acrobatics and trapeze skills. The film captures the journey leading to their debut performance.
From March 1 to April 11, 2000, the troupe embarks on an inaugural tour across Guinea. The documentary addresses the cultural expression of the young performers while introducing circus arts in a new context, showcasing their experiences and the significance of this artistic endeavor in Guinea.
