Are You Listening! is a Bangladeshi fiction-non-fiction film directed by Kamar Ahmad Simon, focusing on life in a remote coastal village in the Sundarbans. The film combines elements of fiction and documentary, utilizing an observational style inspired by cinéma vérité. Kamar spent 20 months living in the village, engaging with locals and capturing their stories through informal conversations that informed the script. The film premiered as the opening film at the 55th Dok Leipzig and has been featured in over 40 international festivals, including the 25th IDFA. It was released theatrically in Bangladesh on February 21, 2014, and received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Feature (Non-fiction) in 2015, awarded by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
